The Sunset Transit Center is located on SW Barnes Road within the looping cloverleaf intersection of highways 26 and 217. It is in Zone 3. Enter the transit center by car off Barnes Road. Eastbound from Hwy. 26, use the Cedar Hills Blvd. exit. Westbound, use the Barnes Road exit.

Nearby alternative parking is available. There are two shared-use Park & Rides:
- Cedar Hills United Church of Christ, 11695 SW Park Way. Take 59-Walker/Park Way to Sunset TC.
- Cedar Mill Bible Church, 12208 NW Cornell Rd. Take 89-Tanasbourne to Sunset TC.
In addition, there is on-street parking to the south of Sunset TC, across the pedestrian bridge on Butner Rd.
For direct MAX access, use the Beaverton Creek Park & Ride located at SW 153rd Ave and Millikan Way. There are usually spaces available in this lot at all times.
Design
MAX trains stop at open-air platforms that are 20 feet below ground level. The east and westbound platforms, separated by the light rail tracks, are sheltered by suspended glass panels. On the west end of the station, closest to the parking garage, two elevators and two stairways lead to and from the platforms. Additional stairways are at the opposite end of the station. A 243-foot-long pedestrian/bicycle bridge over the Sunset Highway links the transit center to the Cedar Hills Shopping Center at Butner Road and nearby homes to the south. A 600-foot-long horseshoe-shaped underpass carries MAX underneath the Sunset Highway.

Design
The main MAX station building, with the rich red bricks and steep copper roof of traditional big-city railroad stations, is designed to pay tribute to the passenger railroads serving Hillsboro over the years. The westbound platform is next to the station building. The eastbound platform is on an island between the tracks and Washington Street.

Design
The center-loading MAX platform is located between the tracks. The bus plaza is next to the westbound tracks. The Park & Ride lot is west of the bus stops. An abstract brick pattern is designed into the signal/communications and substation buildings.

Design
The MAX tracks at Gateway Transit Center are oriented north-south. Blue Line westbound riders board from the east platform, then the train heads north and turns west, running parallel to I-84. Blue Line eastbound riders board from the west platform, then the train heads south and turns east, running parallel to E Burnside. Northbound MAX Red Line trains share the eastbound track until it splits, with Red Line trains continuing north to the airport. Red Line and Green Line trains traveling to downtown use a third track located in between both station platforms. Southbound MAX Green Line trains share the eastbound track until it splits, with Green Line trains continuing south to Clackamas Town Center. Riders going downtown can board any westbound train, whether it is Blue, Green or Red Line.

Design
MAX riders ascend a staircase from the bus drop-off and then descend onto the station platform (there are also ramps and an elevator). A single MAX track runs on either side of the platform, eastbound on the south side and westbound on the north. Ticket machines are located at the top of the staircase; passengers are required to have a paid fare when entering or exiting the boarding platform.

Design
MAX station located in the center of Interstate Avenue. The northbound MAX platform lies north of Lombard, while the southbound platform is located to the south. The area was rehabilitated to be pedestrian-friendly, with new sidewalks and bus stops. A team of artists and writers drew from Native American culture to create artwork for this transit center.

Design
As shown on the map above, there are two MAX stations adjacent to the transit center: A Yellow Line station (with service to Expo Center and City Center) is located at the intersection of Interstate & Multnomah, and a Blue, Green and Red Line station (with service to the airport, Gresham, Clackamas, Beaverton, Hillsboro and City Center) is located at the intersection of Holladay & Wheeler. Yellow Line trains heading north to Expo Center board at the platform north of Multnomah on the east side of Interstate. Yellow Line trains to City Center board on the platform on the west side of Interstate. Bus routes cross the MAX tracks and run north-south through the transit center. Large glass-covered shelters provide weather protection at the bus stops.
Tigard Transit Center
